![]() Bill, Karen and Drew were all fantastic and really made the experience for us. Just book this trip and you'll be guaranteed a fantastic time! Neither my boyfriend or I are strong swimmers so we're apprehensive about getting in the water at night but the crew couldn't have been more reassuring. I would recommend that the staff revaluate why they do this excursion. Unfortunately, the unfriendly environment left uncomfortable vibes on the boat. ![]() The captain and female staff bad mouthed other boat companies on the Manta Ray excursion. If this would have been an on land excursion, I would have left. The boat captain and female staff (might have been his wife) were arrogant, sarcastic, and rude. Although the staff were knowledgeable and safety conscious, they lacked a welcoming friendly environment that we were expecting. From the minute we accessed the boat area, it felt like we were being “lectured which was an immediate fun killer. ![]() They “accidentally” let 2 staff members have the night off. The captain made a comment about just doing this because it was a “money maker”, which was apparent in their attitude. Once we got to the manta ray area, we waited 1 hour before we could access the water, while all other boats let there customers in the water. Homemade cookies and pineapple were served. We were able to see many manta rays and they were beautiful to experience! The floating board was well built and equipped with quality lights so we could see the Manta Rays. The boat was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Our experience was both good and not so good. Book on one of the first nights you’re here so you can come another night if necessary.īut when there are mantas, this is incredible trip to take. Unfortunately, we’re leaving tomorrow (but can come back on our next visit). ![]() When we didn’t see any, the company graciously gave us another excursion at no cost. I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known that (I was expecting many based on my last visit).Ģ. We found out after we didn’t see any that there had been 3 or 4 other nights during the week. I previously went on a night manta trip where there were literally dozens of mantas who came within inches of our group.ġ. The plus was the crew: professional, friendly, and did all they could. Very disappointing, but not the fault of the crew. As a result, there were no mantas in the water the night we went. The first thing you need to keep in mind is that you’re dealing with wild animals. Floating around in the ocean at night is a big deal and you want to be able to focus on the Manta's and know that someone else is watching and paying attention to everything else - and that is what they did and we were very impressed with their efforts and care. There are a lot of options on the island but this is the only one I would recommend. There were literally dozens of boats that came and left while we were enjoying our show and while it was pretty strenuous overall, we never felt at risk because someone was always there constantly checking in and making sure everyone was ok. He is clearly focused on safety and his younger crew was well trained and engaging with each and every person on board. We were the first boat to arrive to an area that was actually significantly further ($$$ to the owner) to assure we had a prime spot and to avoid getting to the closer area that had previously had a poor showing. The owner has made significant investments to provide an experience that you will never forget. We spent our Valentine's day evening with the owner and his well trained and attentive crew.
